Physical restraint use goes down
WASHINGTON (AP) _ The use of physical restraints on nursing home patients declined nearly 40 percent nationally in recent years, Iand Washington state remains below the national average. In the state percentage of physically restrained patients went from 9 percent in 2002 to 2.7 percent in 2006. Nationally, the decline was from 9.7 percent to 5.9 percent.
