Area Fourth of July celebrations
(Skagit/Island Counties)- Several Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks shows are scheduled to happen later this week.
Thursday night, July 3rd, the Big Lake Fire Department holds their 45th annual 3rd of July fireworks show starting around 10 p.m.
The Anacortes Women of Today sponsor their annual 4th of July parade and patriotic program starting at 11 a.m. on Commercial Avenue and at Causland Park. Fireworks over Fidalgo Bay start at dusk. Mount Vernon’s annual Fabulous 4th of July Music and Fireworks take place at Edgewater Park Friday night with music starting at 6 o’clock and fireworks at dusk. Sedro-Woolley’s 74th annual Loggerodeo has lots of stuff to do Friday with the parade at 11 a.m. and fireworks at dusk off Fruitdale Road. Stanwood has tons of stuff going on as well with a parade at 11 a.m. down Main Street and fireworks at dusk. The Bursting In Air Fireworks Over The Swinomish starts at 10 o’clock Friday night over the Swinomish Slough in La Conner. Oak Harbor’s annual 4th of July celebration takes place at Windjammer Park with a parade at 11 a.m. on Pioneer Way and fireworks at 10 o’clock Friday night back at Windjammer Park.
Saturday night, Skagit Speedway in Alger hosts their annual Les Schwab Mid-Season Championships and Fireworks Show. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. at Skagit Speedway with the fireworks after the racing.
