(OLYMPIA)– Governor Jay Inslee has proclaimed this week as Problem Gambling Awareness Week to help raise awareness about problem gambling and reduce its negative effects.

In honor of this special week, Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling, together with many partners in the treatment, research, social services, and gaming industry, is working to educate Washington State citizens on the issues surrounding problem gambling and where to seek help, if needed.

For people affected by problem gambling, help is available.

The Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling runs a statewide, toll-free, and confidential Helpline that provides referral services to callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1.800.547.6133.
